- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide
appropriate care for patient population served in his/her
department within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice
Act.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and
development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess
date reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his/her
age-specific needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge to assess, plan, evaluate, and document
care in coordination with the health care team across the
continuum.
- Assess patients/families ability to learn and incorporate
teaching throughout hospitalization and in preparation for
discharge.
- Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the
rights and dignity of all patients.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Utilizing therapeutic communication in daily practice.
- Participation in performance improvement activities.
- Providing care and coordinating participation that fosters the
goals of the hospital What you will do in this role:
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge of medical/surgical/cardiac
nursing and maintains the highest quality of patient care;
including medications administered.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and
development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess
date reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his/her
age-specific needs.
- Utilize appropriate skills in telephone etiquette when
answering the telephone, making sure to record correct message and
pass along to appropriate staff; including patient inquiries.
- Ensure privacy of our patients and confidentiality of the
Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Meet mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives as
listed on the Performance Management Plan.
- Utilize nursing process for individual care to meet needs of
patients.
- Document all patient care and findings.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Utilize iTRACE and IV infusion guardrail safety as
indicated.
- Administer and document medications safely utilizing safe
administration practices per policy.
- Provide safe care to all patients by ensuring safety and
isolation protocols are utilized.
- Complete mandatory education in a timely manner
- Comply with hospital policies and procedures and patient safety
initiatives.
- Adhere to iHEAL standards, PMC Mission Statement values,
policies/procedures and regulations.
- TEAM Spirit oriented; support and nurture growth of team
members.
- Assist in managing the physical work environment for safety
needs; reporting unsafe conditions and initiate work orders as
indicated.
- Report errors and near misses in accordance with policy; share
findings to enhance processes.
- Ensure access to medication is secure and controlled at all
times; including return of any unused medications promptly
according to policy/procedure guidelines.
- Provide accountability for recruitment and retention activities
as evidenced by feedback on employee satisfaction surveys.
- Serve as a resource to faculty and students during their
clinical experience rotations.
- Exhibit flexibility to meet the needs of the department,
facility, and team as needed in response to unexpected changes in
work volume, emergencies, staffing, and or scheduling changes. What
qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days from
employment
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be current
- Registered Nurse
- Associate DegreeParkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed
hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature
comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These
services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These
services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and
rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art
neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services.
Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment
