This position is for applicants who have experience in workplace
risk that centers on workplace safety, claims processing,
subrogation, and general liability insurance. Please apply if you
have this level of experience. This role is not applicable to those
with experience in Financial Risk Management or IT Risk Management.
This role must be in the office 5 days per week. Salary
commensurate with experience: $50,000 - $64,000 annually. JOB
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Risk Manager, this position
supports Hall County Government’s risk-management and
loss-prevention program as a professional staff member. The Risk
Analyst is expected to be self-motivated and interested in a career
in risk management. This role supports the Risk Management
Department by gathering and analyzing data, developing training
resources, and obtaining risk management skills under supervision.
Assigned programs may include claims management, incident
reporting, driver programs, insurance renewals, data loss analysis
and prevention, and risk management events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Risk Manager with establishing and
enforcing Risk Management policies, conducting safety assessments,
evaluating and developing training programs, and overseeing loss
prevention, loss trend analysis, and loss reporting. The Risk
Analyst will assist the Risk Manager in loss prevention, trend and
incident analysis, and related reporting. The Risk Analyst will
support the Risk Manager by conducting safety assessments,
evaluating existing training programs, and developing new training
programs. This role is responsible for contributing to County-wide
education, as well as risk mitigation and reduction. Support the
Risk Manager in driver programs, and coordinate claims management,
incident investigation, claims data input and reporting, working
with department leaders and insurance adjusters to evaluate claims
and provide recommendations. The Risk Analyst will maintain
effective communication with department leaders, county employees,
and vendor partners, both in writing and verbally, as needed. The
Risk Analyst is responsible for inputting claims data, conducting
incident investigations, performing claims analyses, and reporting.
The Risk Analyst will collaborate with department leaders and
insurance adjusters to evaluate claims and recommend resolutions to
the Risk Manager. The Risk Analyst will lead the Risk Management
Committee in evaluating incidents, identifying their causes, and
recommending actions in accordance with established policies and
procedures. The Risk Analyst will support the Risk Manager in
managing the Risk Management Subrogation Program. The Risk Analyst
is responsible for the recordkeeping of all risk files. The Risk
Analyst will assist in preparing material and evidence for
organizational use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance
investigations. The Risk Analyst coordinates the random and “for
cause” drug/alcohol screening program for all employees, ensuring
compliance with Hall County’s Screening policy and communicating
procedures as necessary. The Risk Analyst will maintain
professional knowledge and skills by continuing to develop their
expertise through attending seminars and training programs, as well
as reading trade and professional journals and publications.
Completes administrative duties and special projects assigned by
the Risk Manager or designee. Regular and predictable attendance is
required. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and Experience: Associate’s
degree in business, Political Science, Safety, or related field.
Four plus years of Risk Management and/or Claims-related
experience. Municipality experience preferred. Any equivalent
combination of education and experience to meet the above-stated
qualifications. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Class C drivers’
license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record. Knowledge, Skills,
and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles and methods of risk
management and loss control techniques to develop and carry out
comprehensive projects and prepare recommendations for changes to
management. Ability to create an employee-focused culture that will
engage employees in Hall County’s Risk Management Programs.
Knowledge of training and safety programs. Knowledge of applicable
laws, ordinances, policies, standards, and regulations pertaining
to the specific duties and responsibilities of the job. Knowledge
of computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and
various personnel and risk-related platforms. Ability to compile,
organize, prepare, and maintain an assortment of records, reports,
and information in an effective manner. Knowledge of workers’
compensation, automobile, and liability laws and regulations.,
Independent and collaborative problem-solving skills. Strong oral
and written communication skills. Ability to perform basic
mathematical and statistical calculations. Ability to read,
understand, and interpret reports and related materials. Ability to
communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with employees of all levels. ADA MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Physical
Ability: Essential functions of this position continuously require
the ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or
standing); operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a
calculator, copier, and printer. Incumbents must continuously be
able to think analytically; handle stress and emotion, concentrate
on tasks, remember names and other details; examine and observe
details; make decisions, and adjust to change. Incumbents must also
continuously direct others; meet deadlines; stay organized; use
math/calculations and use a keyboard/type. Essential Functions
frequently require the ability to move about inside the office; and
move/transport items up to 10lbs. Essential functions occasionally
require the ability to bend body downward and forward by bending
spine and legs, and twisting at the waist, hips or knees; reach
overhead; push or pull; and repetitively use hands/arms/legs.
Incumbents in this position are occasionally required to be on-call
and work irregular hours. Sensory Requirements: Essential functions
regularly require the ability to use effective verbal and written
communication; and use of hand/eye coordination and fine
manipulation to use equipment. Environmental Factors: Essential
functions of this position continuously require the ability to
