our communities. About the Role: Job Summary Responsible for
developing, implementing and monitoring a Security & Emergency
Preparedness management program to ensure the protection of
patients, visitors, employees, medical staff, volunteers and
property of all NGHS owned facilities. The Director is responsible
for the effective performance of Public Safety, its personnel, and
the management of the department in concert with institutional
policies, procedures and practices. Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications: Valid GA Driver's License, CHPA
(upon hire or within one year) Educational Requirements: Bachelor's
Degree. Minimum Experience: Minimum of five years previous hospital
security department management experience that includes maintaining
a security operation that had the responsibility to assist and
protect people, safeguard physical property, and oversee facility
parking. Experience in healthcare security required. Preferred Job

Security Program Able to act responsibly, manage authority and
maintain confidentiality of information Ability to establish and

supervisors, senior administrators, public officials, and the
general public Knowledge of various security systems including
(CCTV, Access Control, Alarm Monitoring, and Report Systems) Must
be able to engage in Physical Defense Systems: i.e. weapons,
defensive tactics, and use of patient restraints. Ability to work
at main campus in Gainesville as well as Lumpkin and Habersham
campuses. Ability to travel in the region and work a flexible
schedule as needed. This is an onsite role, not remote. Essential
Tasks and Responsibilities Responsible for hiring, coaching, and
developing the supervisors and staff per established budgets to
provide all security related functions to Northern Market
Hospitals. Completes routine appraisals of supervisors per System
protocol. Responsible for monitoring and evaluating performance of
security programs, to include conducting site reviews,
vulnerability assessments, and code drills, writing audit/review
reports, reviewing findings, and making recommendations to
Executive Director. Develops and implements corrective action
plans. Establishes/maintains customer relationships with a variety
of groups, including hospital leadership and staff, patients, and
visitors, to enable the performance of security department
services. Responsible for planning, developing and implementing
security plans and programs, including Emergency Response and
Crisis Management, Physical Security, Information & Asset
Protection, Incident Management and/or Investigations. Provide
representation for the hospital at security and related meetings
with outside agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security
(DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Georgia
Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), Hall County Emergency
Management Agency (AFCEMA), Assistant Secretary for Preparedness
and Response (ASPR – formerly Health Resources and Services
Administration - HRSA), the Gainesville Police Department, Hall
County Sheriff’s Office, and any other agency where attendance and
participation would promote the objectives of the hospital.
Responsible to perform annual risk analysis for the Northern
Market, particularly with respect to level of crime, reported
security incidents, workplace violence, threats from natural and
manmade disasters. Prepare and manage annual operating and capital
expense budgets for the Northern Market security departments.
Ensure department expenses are in line with established operating
budgets. Develop and maintain accurate statistical data on security
activities. With collected data, provide statistical analysis in a
monthly review and annual report with recommendations for
improvement. Conducts periodic reviews of all security and security
related policies (minimum annually). Recommend and implement
changes where needed. Informs the Executive Director regarding
circumstances or situations which have or may have serious impact
on the hospital. Guides the supervisor team in planning, assigning
and directing the work of department staff, to include shift
scheduling and staffing in line with budget. Ensures overtime is
used only when necessary and approved. Develop and disseminate
security information to employees, students, and staff through
orientation presentations and other methods of instruction. Attend
monthly meetings for assigned committees to include: Environment of
Care Committee, Emergency Management Sub-Committee, Security
Management Sub-Committee, and other leadership Committees. Prepare
annual review of the Security Management Program for the Northern
Market. Conducts safety and security surveys i.e. lighting,
emergency phones, alarms and monitoring systems Review new and
existing Security related contracts for accuracy. Provides
oversight of required plans, including environmental safety,
security, and emergency management, ensuring plans and
implementation of plans meet or exceed all NGHS, Federal, State,
DNV, and CMS requirements. Tracks department performance across
established benchmarks and ensures required reporting is completed.
Collaborate with IT in the development and management of all
Security Technology systems to include CCTV, Access Control, Radio
Communications, and other technologies for new and existing
facilities in the Northern Market. Ensures supervisors and staff
perform safety and security rounds of the hospitals, grounds,
parking areas, and outlying buildings and maintain visibility by
working at assigned posts throughout facilities. Writes detailed
evaluations, assigns and oversees execution of staff assignments
and schedules, and provides effective leadership and guidance of
the Northern Market security team to ensure success. Physical
