This role in summary Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Controls Engineering Technician. The role is located at our Cleveland, TN site. As an associate, you will work in a fast paced, high-speed environment while following standardized work and adhering to safe work practices in a continuous improvement organization. Hourly Rate: $36.10 Work Shift: 2nd 4pm -2:30am Monday -Thursday - Work overtime hours as needed to support production requirements Your responsibilities will include Provide technical assistance to quickly resolve plant equipment issues by implementing preventative measures to eliminate the root cause of the production upset issue Provide teaching and coaching to maintenance technicians on technical issues Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment such as: PLCs (programmable logic controllers), hydraulic & pneumatic circuits, HMIs (human machine interface) and assorted industrial machinery controls Maintain/Update key technical documentation of plant equipment systems. Log daily activity and communicate with other technicians and facility staff Will lift up to 40lbs unassisted and climb ladders and work at heights of up to 30 feet Will work using hand tools and advanced test equipment (meters, toners, etc.) Position requires incumbents to spend significant time on their feet and walking (10 or more hours per day), as well as alternate between standing and seated positions Minimum requirements High School Diploma or GED 1+years of experience with Rockwell PLC (programmable logic controllers) software to troubleshoot process equipment upset situations and to make the changes needed to get the equipment running. 1+years of experience with Rockwell HMI (human machine interface) software to troubleshoot process equipment upset situations and to make the changes needed to get the equipment running. 1+years of experience installing and configuring a VFD (variable frequency Drive) and updating technical drawings with AutoCad Preferred skills and experiences Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems and associated electrical field devices Knowledge and setup of Fanuc robots and PLC (programmable logic controllers) servo motion Demonstrate leadership attributes working as a member of a team and leading by example Excellent customer relations skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key internal/external stakeholders Eagerness to expand knowledge and skills across multiple disciplines Ability to prioritize work RSRWH Connect with us and learn more about Whirlpool Corporation See what it's like to work at Whirlpool by visiting Whirlpool Careers .
