Be a servant leader and role model for othersCreate an environment where people can thrive and reach their greatest potentialFocus on providing a world class customer experienceValue relationships and results DRIVEBecause it Leads to Our Greatest Human Potential Have the will to succeed and overcome obstaclesNever be satisfied with the status quoBring new ideas to the table Position Responsibilities Manage Administrative, Production, Harvest employees and ensure all employees are operating within safety parameters.Work with Production and Harvest management to ensure that any person operating a piece of equipment has been properly trained on how to safely operate each piece of equipment wearing all required PPE on a daily basis.Applies all rules/regulations/policies fairly and consistently.Work with Production and Harvest to oversee training of new employees to include seasonal crew members.Displays sound judgement in managing and controlling expenses; seeks to understand the company s finance policies and procedures.Ensure that resources are properly managed to operate within the farm budget.Ensure that accurate records are kept by department managers to comply with State and Federal agencies (such as Crop Improvement Agency, Pesticide Inspections and OSHA).Ensure that employee issues are promptly addressed through training, coaching and corrective action.Takes the lead in investigating accidents/incidents/violations.Regularly inspects and implements quality control measures across all departments at the farm level.Consult and walk fields with Production Manager on fertility, weed control, irrigation, etc.Consults with Harvest Manager on quality of product to be shipped, mowing, field reclamation, etc.Consults with Mechanics on issues concerning safety and condition of all equipment and has final approval over major issues.Ensures accurate and timely inventories are submitted to Sod Central when/as requested.Responsible for executing planting plan in a manner that meets Buy Sod standards.Must possess the ability to properly communicate quality issues in a timely and professional manner to Regional Farm Manager/Production Director.Participates in company-wide leadership training, meetings and continuing education as needed.Partner with Sod Central for: HR, Accounting, Logistics, Sales & IT for shared services needs. Position RequirementsMust demonstrate ability to be a team player and build positive working relationships with others.High School diploma or equivalent required.Previous experience in agriculture or the turf industry preferred.Previous experience in a leadership/management role preferred.Values relationships and results.Ability to communicate effectively and keep business records.Ability to discern what issues need to be brought to upper management.Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.Basic technology skills and ability to learn/utilize company software programs. Must have attention to detail and the ability to assert ideas, solve problems, communicate issues and positive experiences.Ability to work flexible hours to include, but not limited to, early AM/PM, nights and weekends and hours that could fluctuate day-to-day.Ability to work in adverse weather conditions required.Ability to lift, push, pull heavy materials (50+1bs) frequently.
