Health Aide/Certified Nurse Assistants in Tennessee Professional

(PRN, Part-time & Fulltime) to provide in-home healthcare services

PRN, Parttime Fulltime Hours
Mon- Friday and Weekends available
Day Shifts Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- Successful completion of a formal aide certification training
program consistent with state and federal requirements and for
which a certificate was obtained. Notable state specific
requirements:
- Tennessee: completed a total of seventy-five (75) hours of
training which includes sixteen (16) hours of clinical training
prior to or during the first three (3) months of employment
- Successful demonstration of competency in the provision of care
and services safely and effectively
- New graduate nurses are welcome to apply !
- Demonstrated ability to read and write consistent with job
requirements
- Verbal, written and interpersonal skills necessary for
establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with the
client/family and personnel of the PCM
- Reliable means of transportation Essential Functions/Areas of
Accountability Perform only those services permitted under state
law and for which deemed competent to perform which are assigned by
and performed under the supervision of an RN who is responsible for
the client care provided by the aide Exhibit competency in and
perform personal care activities, including but not limited to:
- Reading and recording temperature, pulse, and respiration
- Basic infection control procedures
- Maintenance of a clean, safe, and healthy environment
- Safe transfer techniques and ambulation
- Bathing (bed/sponge, tub and shower)
- Shampoo (sink, tub and bed)
- Skin /nail care
- Oral hygiene
- Shaving
- Dressing
- Toileting and elimination
- Normal range of motion and positioning Perform household
services essential to maintain a safe and healthy environment for
health care at home, including but not limited to:
- Meal preparation/feeding including adequate nutrition and fluid
intake
- Laundry
- Light housekeeping Follow written assignment and instructions
provided by the RN at all times. Complete and submit appropriate
records to document care given and pertinent observations per
policy. At no time should a HHA/CNA administer medications. They
may assist with the medication reminders only; all medication must
be given by RN/LPN provider. Report any observed or reported
changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the case manager
or other appropriate supervisor. Promote personal safety and a safe
environment for clients by observing infection prevention and
control practices, following PCM guidelines, and reporting unsafe
situations to the RN or case manager. Demonstrate safe practice in
the use of equipment and cleaning; do not use nor clean equipment
until orientation about its operation has been provided by your
supervisor. Recognize emergencies and demonstrate knowledge of
emergency procedures. Encourage the client to be as independent as
possible in accordance with the plan of care. Promote client's
mental alertness through involvement in allowed activities of
interest. Respect client's privacy and personal property.
Participate in employee meetings and care coordination conferences
as requested. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Participate in continuing educations offerings as needed and in
compliance with policy. Notify RN of training or learning needs.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as deemed
