About The Practice After providing obstetrical and gynecological
care to the Upper Cumberland for 14 years, Bert E. Geer, DO, found
it challenging to keep up with the rapidly growing fields of OBGYN
and Urogynecology, which had always been a strong focus in his
practice. Dr. Geer made the decision to focus entirely on
Gynecology and Urogynecology. Dr. Geer then became the first, and
only, Masters trained robotic surgeon in the region. Cookeville
Gynecology was opened in 2011, and was joined by Tara Masters &
Sarah Brady, both excellent Nurse Practitioners specializing in
women’s health. In 2017, Meghan Herren, (NP) another excellent
provider to our practice. In 2013 the ACGME Accreditation Counsel
made Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) a
full subspecialty of OB/GYN. In 2014 Dr. Geer became the first and
only physician in the Upper Cumberland to achieve board
certification in FPMRS. The Hospital - https://www.crmchealth.org/
Cookeville Regional Medical Center is a 247-bed regional referral
center servicing more than 350,000 residents in the region. With

specialties, the hospital offers patients the same kind of care
they can expect in a larger metropolitan area including specialty
services that include cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac and
thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, pulmonology, cancer treatment,
orthopedics, physical rehabilitation and neurosurgery. In addition
to a 228,000 square foot $80 million patient tower that opened in
2009, the Center completed expansions of its emergency department
to include 37 beds and surgery department to include 12
state-of-the-art OR suites. In 2013 we received the Distinguished
Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades in 2013,
placing it among the five percent of hospitals in the nation. We’ve
