Medical Laboratory Technician Location: Jackson, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,572 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician Profession: MLT Tech Specialty: Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7p-7a) Experience: Minimum 1 year Laboratory experience preferred License: MLT(AAB) or MLT(AMT) or MLT(ASCP) Certifications: All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Must-Have: - Associates degree in Medical Technology or equivalent - Accuracy in patient and quality assurance testing - Critical thinking and analytical skills - Knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures - Strong organizational and communication skills Description: This role, under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Manager, or Laboratory Director, allows the Medical Laboratory Technician to perform tests requiring limited skill and responsibility. The position requires the exercise of independent judgment as competency is demonstrated. Maintains acceptable accuracy in patient testing, quality assurance, proficiency, and competency testing. Utilizes clinical and theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret, and report lab data. Reports lab data accurately and in a timely manner. Recognizes the relationship between lab data and clinical findings. Initiates the investigation of problems and works towards resolution. Interprets information from multiple sources. Meets department standards for correct patient or specimen identification. Documents investigation and correct interpretation of quality assurance failures or trends. Maintains instrumentation for testing. Practices information monitoring and hand-off to team members as per departmental procedures. Documents all elements of laboratory test status. Adheres to established standards of behavior consistently. Takes personal responsibility for action regarding constructive criticism. Practices organizational skills to ensure efficient use of time, materials, and cost. Meets deadlines for turn-around times required by the department. Completes monthly, quarterly, or yearly educational requirements. Maintains current knowledge and practice of policies and procedures. Demonstrates adequate knowledge of laboratory regulatory compliance. Participates in meetings, committees, task forces, and project teams. Completes other duties as assigned.
