Experience: Minimum 1 year of full-time, school-based experience as
a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Teacher of the Visually Impaired
(TVI / VIT) – Qualifications and Responsibilities: Provide
assessment and instructional services to visually impaired
children, including individual assessments, direct instruction, and
collaboration with school staff, families, and external providers
Establish caseloads, procedures, and resources needed to manage
vision programs and support IEP goals Deliver direct services
through classroom presentations, co-teaching in general education
settings, and in-service sessions for staff and parents Provide
targeted instruction to visually impaired students in both group
and 1:1 formats Consult with teachers, parents, school personnel,
and other professionals to share insights, recommend services, and
develop comprehensive educational plans Utilize and provide
training on assistive technologies such as BrailleNote,
refreshabraille with iPads, ZoomText, Duxbury, and other
computer-based accessibility tools License - Education -
Certification Requirements: Required: Minimum of a Master's degree
in a related field Required: Active State Teaching License as a
Teacher of the Visually Impaired, with any additional
