Job Summary:This position is designed to assist the Store
Manager in building the "Best Team in Town" to ensure that Food
City is indeed "The Best Store in Town!"Essential Job Functions: 1.
Walk the store daily; i.e. make contact with and be available to
all associates working.Recruiting ProcessUpdate the In-Store Career
BoardsReview and update Event Calendar and plannerHigh School and
College Contact Person (Yearly Plan)Communicate and assist in
coordinating all career fairs with Company RecruiterMaintain
College Tracking ReportCheck hiring kiosk daily for cleanliness and
report any technical issues to I.S. Support Desk (ext. 5005)Ensure
that internal company job opportunity postings are communicated and
removed as directedSchedule and communicate with all Front End
associates the HRC's availability for assisting applicants needing
help with the application processReceive and assist possible
candidates with employment inquiry calls Hiring ProcessAttend
Department Head Meetings and coordinate staffing solutions for each
department's needsReview all applications (daily)Conduct all phone
interviewsScheduling and conducting initial interviews with
department headAll drug testing, verifying resultsCompleting new
hire paperwork/processSchedule orientation and new hire department
training with the department trainer and communicate the schedule
in writing to all new associates.Orientation ProcessComplete New
Hire Welcome and Orientation Checklist with all new hiresIssue
uniforms to all new associates based on department dress codeCreate
and issue name badgesSchedule Fast Track training with the
department trainer, using the Fast Track Exceptions Report and
provide new associate a copy of the exceptions reportAssist all new
associates with signing on to Fast Track and completing "About Fast
Track" lesson and ensure all orientation lessons are
completedAssist all new associates with signing on My Profile and
teaching to navigate through the systemFollow up on new hire
training completionTrainingConduct new hire store tours (3 Hour
Tour)Follow up with Department Trainers, Department Managers, Store
Managers and associates to ensure all associates receive thorough
training for any new positionsVerify Department Trainers are
certified by Department Training SupervisorsMonitor Fast Track
training and reporting and report to the department head and store
managerMaintain all Company Manuals and ensure updates are read and
signedConduct Monthly Feelings classes (Yearly Plan)Conduct
Quarterly Exceptional Service Classes (Yearly Plan)Benefits Open
Enrollment and benefits review, including ESOP (Yearly Plan)Serve
as the Voluntary Benefits Enroller during Annual Open
EnrollmentAssist associates with questions regarding benefits
including the enrollment process and assist associates in
contacting appropriate persons for questions or further
informationPromote annual scholarship opportunities and assist
interested associates in the application ProcessFacilitate KARE
Program and Leaves of AbsenceGenerate and review Newly Eligible for
401K Report monthly and meet with each newly eligible associate
individuallyCoordinate Claude Varney Awards Program for store
locationFacilitate birthday and retirement recognition of
associates, report to the Store ManagerMaintain all state and
federal required postings on HR Bulletin BoardMaintain minor files,
check for daily/weekly complianceMaintain local school calendars to
prevent violationsJob Qualifications:Associate degree or equivalent
work experience1-2 years' experience in Retail operationsMust be
able to resolve differences through diplomatic meansMust be
knowledgeable in various training methodsAbility to understand and
follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and
repetitive tasks, and have constant contact/interaction with
various levels of individuals on a daily basisFlexibility in work
hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysMust have excellent
problem-solving skillsMust be able to lead by example to give Food
City Customers their best shopping experienceKnowledge of Food City
policies and proceduresExpertise of all job duties associates must
perform in each area of responsibilityAbility to attend on-site
work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and
