JOB DESCRIPTION: Works closely with Workers Compensation/Liability, and Safety programs while providing HR leadership to operations teams system-wide. Monitors internal implementation plans, conducts internal audits, develop processes, and provides training on Worker's Compensation and works closely with third-party administrators to manage claims. Serves as liaison between the operations teams the various corporate office departments as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:-- Administers liability and workers compensation programs in liaison with third-party administrators. -- Investigates all incidents and assigned complaints and interprets findings, based on Company policies, practices, procedures, and applicable laws. Advises field management of the proper method of resolving complaints. -- Works with Vice-Presidents, Safety Committee and Managers in all company departments in training employees, ensuring safety compliance and enacting disciplinary procedures when necessary. -- Works with Human Resources Team to conduct ad-hoc reviews including: a. Personnel File audit and review. b. DOT Driver Files audit and review. c. Checks for proper display of all company and legally required posters.-- Ensures compliance of all company policies and procedures and works with senior management of all departments to work toward resolution should non-compliance be discovered.-- Reports all injuries and accidents to our insurance partners. -- Communicates with our insurance carrier to ensure claim progression. Assists them with obtaining information as needed. -- As available, provide assistance to claimants. -- Maintains RMIS system through input of relevant data while ensuring data integrity from all sources. -- Reviews and analyzes the monthly billing statement from insurance partners for accuracy. Process payment once accuracy is confirmed. -- Prepares and provides statistical reporting as needed by management. -- Analyzes trends and historical information to identify issues with compliance and areas of improvement. -- Assists in administering other department programs and/or functions as directed by management. -- Advises management personnel regarding situations involving terminations, progressive discipline, demotions, promotions, etc. Consults with initiating manager on action to be taken and reviews to ensure action complies with Company policy and applicable laws. Ensures preservation of employee's rights. -- Performs accident and incident investigations when needed and follows up with the Safety Committee to ensure the correct action is taken to decrease further injuries. -- Participates in mediation of employment issues as needed. -- Works with legal counsel on incidents as needed in assigned areas of responsibility. -- Facilitates and participates in training classes for all levels of management, including legal compliance issues, employee development, recruiting training, etc. -- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check, which will include previous employment check and criminal history.
