Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor performs functions directed towards
successfully and efficiently meeting manufacturing goals for
customer orders by maintaining the facility and equipment in good
repair and in working order to eliminate downtime.
Essential Functions:
Must meet all requirements for Mechanics without direct assistance
or supervision
Must have knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform all
preventative maintenance in a manufacturing setting
Plan, fabricate, and install non-mechanical equipment (such as
stands, tables, etc.)
Keep detailed records on work orders, downtime, maintenance
projects, and materials purchased
Perform work on 600-volt electrical systems
Weld with good precision utilizing a heli-arc, tig welder, and
plasma cutter
Operate both stand-up and sit-down forklift
Comply/enforce established standards, procedures, and expectations
for quality, safety, and sanitation
Maintains labor cost control by completing tasks on straight time,
ensuring proper manning, and managing projects to ensure efficiency
in the department
Establish familiarity with all company policies and procedures and
the local practices of such; uphold/enforce them in order to
maintain fairness and consistency of treatment
Supports employee development and performance by reviewing
appraisals, providing constructive feedback, and offering guidance,
direction, and motivation to help employees resolve work-related
issues and enhance their professional growth within the
organization
Perform other duties or special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Technical Trade/ College Degree or equivalent.
Previous experience in maintenance within a f ood manufacturing
environment
Previous experience in a supervisory or exempt role
Knowledge of wiring and electrical troubleshooting
Reading schematics, control systems, and troubleshooting AC & DC
drivers & ladder logic
Ability to perform mechanical maintenance of pneumatics (pneumatic
conveying systems), welding, & fabrication
PLC's preferably Allen Bradley, Ovens, Mixers & low-pressure
process broilers
Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP Programs
Must successfully complete on-the-job training including ability to
learn and apply knowledge of production processes, raw materials,
and finished product requirements and specifications
Working knowledge of Inventories and computerized load move
data
Must be able to solve common problems that arise in manufacturing
environment
Able to work 12 hour shifts
Able to work weekends
Work Environment: The job is performed in all areas of the facility
where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust
particles emanating from ingredients being used, and at times will
be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
