Job Description:
Founded in 1983, Lumber Specialties operates multiple facilities
in Dyersville, Story City, Osceola, Iowa and Kirkland, Illinois
that total more than 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space on
64 acres. Lumber Specialties produces roof and floor trusses, wall
panels as well as providing engineered wood products, steel beams
and laminated columns to customers throughout the Midwest. Lumber
Specialties is a division of US LBM, one of the country's leading
distributors of specialty building materials. A Brief Overview The
Outside Sales Representative generates and secures new sales to
increase the profitability of the company. This position maintains
existing accounts while generating new business through cold calls
and following leads. This position will be required to work in
Kansas City, Missouri. What you will do - Promote, sell, and secure
new accounts for the company. - Provide existing accounts with
necessary products, time, and information. - Assist with the
selection of products best suited to customer needs. - Prepare,
coordinate, and communicate price quotations, terms of sales,
delivery dates, and service obligations to customers/contractors. -
Resolve customer complaints and problems. - Assist in the
collection of accounts receivable. - Coordinate project schedules,
contractor schedules, and material deliveries. - Prepare and input
orders as necessary. - Informs company of competitive prices,
products, and area-related information. - Maintain current
knowledge of daily and monthly sales and their relationship to
budget and margin goals. - Research and order special products as
necessary. - Estimate materials from blueprints supplied by
customer/contractor. - Adhere to Conflict of Interest or
Non-Compete agreement if in place. - Comply with Company's
attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable
attendance. Required For All Jobs - Perform other duties as
assigned. - Comply with all policies and standards. - Adheres to
Company's commitment to workplace safety. Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Qualifications -
3 years of sales experience in building materials or related
industry required. Skills and Abilities - Working knowledge of
building materials industry and products, ability to negotiate
prices and contractual agreements. - Estimating from blueprints,
ability to use calculator and computer. - Strategic Mindset -
Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into
breakthrough strategies. - Plans and Aligns - Planning and
prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational
goals. - Business Insight - Applying knowledge of business and the

understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. - Must be
able to walk throughout yards, plants, and offices. Licenses and
Certifications - DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
required upon hire. Travel Requirements - 50% Travel. Lumber
