Job Description Job Description Salary: 16-20 DOE Are you a
passionate advocate for children and youth? Do you want to be a
part of creating positive change in the lives of young survivors of
domestic violence and sexual assault? If so, we want you on our
team! About the Position: At the Avalon Center, we believe that
every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered. As a
Child & Youth Advocate, you will have the unique opportunity to
work directly with children and teens, ages 517, who have witnessed
or experienced domestic violence or sexual assault. Youll be making
an impact in a variety of ways: Direct Services & Support: Provide
direct, compassionate support to young survivors in schools, the
Avalon Center office, and through center-based program. Support
Groups: Lead Kids Support Group and Teen Support Group to provide a
safe space for healing, growth, and peer connection. Parent
Collaboration: Work closely with non-offending parents to offer
trauma-related education, focusing on developmental and behavioral
interventions that strengthen family bonds and improve childrens
social and emotional skills. Prevention Education: Be a positive
force in the community by delivering prevention education on topics
like bullying, conflict resolution, gender respect, teen dating
violence, and sexual assault to local schools and organizations.
Crisis Response & Advocacy: Offer support to adult clients as
needed, including safety planning, crisis intervention, writing
orders of protection, court advocacy, and hospital accompaniment.
Answering Crisis Calls: Serve as a critical lifeline by responding
to both our crisis line and regular office calls with empathy and
efficiency. Community Outreach: Be the face of Avalon Center,
engaging with community organizations to spread awareness and
create strong support networks. What Were Looking For: Were
